Pursuant to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s (NJDEP) Certification of the Union County District Solid Waste Management Plan, all Solid Waste Types 13, 13C, 23 and 27 generated within the County of Union, whether collected by a Union County municipality itself (i.e., municipal DPW), or on behalf of such municipality by contract with a solid waste collector, or whether collected by private solid waste collectors, through contracts, or otherwise, from residential generators, governmental generators and/or industrial generators within the County, must be delivered to the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission located at 437 Bergen Avenue, Kearney, NJ 07032
Please be advised that effective, July 1, 2013, NJMC is entitled to a $3.00 per ton increment in the tipping fee under its contract with Union County Utilities Authority (UCUA). As a result, effective July 1, 2013 the aggregate disposal fee will be $84.12 per ton for all Solid Waste Types 13, 13C, 23 and 27 generated within the County of Union. The NJDEP certification of the Union County District Solid Waste Management Plan authorizes the UCUA as the implementing agency responsible for enforcing waste flow within Union County.
